Rain stops for Rotary River Run
On Sunday morning the rain stopped long enough for the participants and organizers to undertake the third Rotary River Run from Florence Wilmot Drive to the Boat Shed Café and Tackle Shop. A distance of 5klms.
The fastest runner, Wilton Townsend aged 15 years, completed the run in 17.05.
Thank you to the Nambucca Heads Island Golf Club, Macksville Country Club, Macksville Ex-Service Club, Nambucca Heads RSL, Nambucca Boatshed Café and Tackle Shop, Nambucca Heads High School, Macksville High School and the Nambucca Christian Life Centre for their donations and support.
The winners of each section received $100 worth of prizes and a perpetual trophy. The trophies will be on display in the Boat Shed Tackle Shop until the next Rotary River Run in May 2026.

- Junior Boys’ Division – Wilton Townsend – 17.05
- Junior Girls’ Division – Clara Watt – 28.29
- Team Division – Brendan Goswell, Adam Snart, Chris Barnes, Andras Lahr
The funds raised from this event go to supporting young people in the community to take part in many of the Rotary Club’s programs.
