Ashton Angus, a Year 10 student from Nambucca Heads High School, is currently in Germany on a 3 month Rotary Short Term Exchange Program (STEP), sponsored by Nambucca Valley Rotary.

He is one of 12 students from our District 9660 who are a part of this program.

Ashton is living with a host brother Leonard and his family in the town of Nottuln, in the Nordrhein-Westfalen state of Germany, sponsored by the Rotary club of Senden, District 1870.

Ashton is currently attending the Friedensschule, a comprehensive high school in Münster, while at the same time working hard on learning German.

In December he will also be participating in a 10-day Winter Tour with other Rotary exchange students – giving him the chance to experience the world-renowned German Christmas Markets, and even a few days skiing in Austria.

During winter next year, Leonard will come and live with Ashton and his family at Wirrimbi for 2-3 months, and will attend one of our local high schools.
