In early 2023, Nambucca Valley Rotary was asked to project manage the building of some gardens at the new Macksville Hospital. The gardens were funded by the estate of Mr Clive Thew.

Local landscaper Jim Taylor designed and drew up the layout, then local concretor Brian Perry and his crew poured all the concrete and provided other trades as required.

Shoretrack and students from Nambucca Heads High School worked on the spreading of soil and wood chip, then planted all the plants.
